Brandon Flowers - Review
By DJ Alborz

Brandon Flowers has come here and he's come big. In case you don't know who he is, he's the lead singer from The Killers and he's gone solo! Well… sort of. He's still using the same producers who brought you the last Killers' album so it's not like he is using this solo release to try some experimental rap or death metal (thank God), instead he brings the same tried-and-tested Killers sound but just without the 3 other band members; I guess he just wanted a bigger share of the money?!

So with the Killers' blueprint intact, the album brings many hits from the U2 sound-a-like first single "Crossfire" with its huge chorus to the upbeat pop track "Was It Something I Said?" which sounds synthy throughout to lessen the impact of the chorus. So don't be surprised to see Brandon Flowers back in the top 10 chart, he might not have the rest of the band with him right now but he's still making tracks with such an indifference that even extends to music videos.

The video for "Crossfire" is a grungy set mini-movie starring the incredible Charlize Theron as she battles to rescue Brandon from his captors. Featuring everything from explosions to ninjas to a car chase to a guy flying through a window, it's almost as if Sly Stallone directed it himself. Of course though, it has a happy ending with the two of them driving off together into the sun…

Overall it seems like nothing more than rebranded Killers CD but that’s not necessarily a bad thing I guess so it's definitely worth a listen.
