Love Lyrics Winners
Love Lyrics was a competition run in partnership with the National Year of Reading where we asked you to write song lyrics inspired by a book.
We had loads of great entries but there had to be one winner. The prize is for the winning lyrics to be performed live by electro poet outfit DAN LE SAC vs SCROOBIUS PIP on the Get it Loud in Libraries tour!
The shortlist was compiled by the Spinebreakers editors before being sent on to dan le sac vs Scroobius Pip who made the final decision. Here is what they said about the winning lyrics:
"We have to say that we really enjoyed the relative simplicity of the winning lyrics. Obviously each of the entries was based on one of a selection of books but the open way in which this piece was written demonstrates a style of writing which will, we feel, appeal to a wide ranging audience.
One of the things that really made this piece stand out is the fact that it deals with Anne Frank's emotions rather than simply telling her story." dan le sac vs Scroobius Pip
And the winner is....
