About the Judges
A judging panel made up of six Spinebreakers Teen Editors will select a shortlist of entries for the prize. The winner will then be chosen by Kate Mosse who will decide which of the shortlist demonstrates that they have done the most to make reading social.
Kate Mosse is the author of two non-fiction books and three novels, including the multi-million selling international No 1 bestseller, Labyrinth. Translated into 35 languages and published in 40 countries, it won 'Richard & Judy's Best Read' at the 2006 British Book Awards and chosen as one of Waterstone's Top 100 novels of the past twenty five years.
A guest presenter for BBC Radio 4's Saturday Review and Open Book, Kate is also is a book reviewer for BBC Breakfast News and for Simon Mayo. The Co-Founder & Honorary Director of the Orange Prize for Fiction, she is on the Board of Arts & Business and the South West Sussex Arts Group. In 2006 she was awarded an Honorary Degree by the University of Chichester. Kate lives with her family and is based in West Sussex and Carcassonne.
