 Spinebreakers workshops: Week one report

By Naomi Passley  / Spinebreakers Crew

23/07/07-27/07/07

So I suppose I should introduce everyone. We’re the Spinebreakers, like super heroes for book reading.  This was our first week and we’ve been really busy, coming up for some content for you guys. There are nine of us, and we’re all amazing. Now here I go with the introductions:

There’s me, Naomi, you’ll probably spot me all over the site. I’m actress extraordinaire, voice over queen, and the most gorgeous girl on this site.

Allie, she’s easy to spot because of the purple hair and unhealthy obsession with Japanese Rock. She’s the bass guitarist with aspirations to become a theatre director one day.

Then there’s Anthony (aka Laquisha), tall, dark, handsome a public school god who has a way with accents. The Hampshire native who is set to enrol in SOAS to study Chinese later this year is an acting master and you’ll definitely hear and see more of him around the site.

The fourth member of our happy team is Jade, the south London native who describes herself as ‘a bit of a geek’. She’s a BRIT school media student, and very quiet, but it’s always the quiet ones you have to look out for.

jellyellie (no capitals, one word) has probably bluejacked you on the tube. The home-educated published author intends to be a millionaire by the time she’s 18 and the scary thing is, she probably will be. However she’ll soon bankrupt herself with bright pink clothing and accessories.

Max, he’s taller than Anthony, possibly more handsome depending on your tastes, but not as dark. He has a beard and goes to the BRIT school, with Allie and Jade. You may have heard him on his radio show called BRIT FM Issues.

Then we have Mirian, our Angolan babe, who speaks fluent Portuguese. She’s cool, funny and a great dresser, and I deeply envy her shoes.

Niamh, the speed-reading bibliophile loves English Literature more than anyone I know. The Harry Potter fangirl and Marxist obsessive has always got her nose buried in a book and intends to be a university lecturer one day.

You’d think we struggle finding someone darker and more handsome than both Anthony and Max. We outdid ourselves when we found Osman. He’s fluent in French, perhaps something to with the fact that he’s from Guinea. He worked in a strip club for a day, however he was not a stripper.

Sadly, it’s farewell from me now, catch up with some of the team’s antics in next week’s Teen Team Report.
