Meeting is a start, staying together is a progress and working together is a success. Which is why we, the Spinebreakers have been working together very hard to make this project happen for young readers. Last week, we had nearly completed all the content for the books. It’s a real big challenge trying to finish the work before the dead line. On Friday, we went again to Penguin’s office on The Strand to interview Charlie Higson author of the (Young Bond). We asked him very important questions but he was a great storyteller, therefore we learnt so much from him. “I don’t want any competition” he said, when we asked him to give us some tips as young writers. But we are very active and positive.
But as Simon Weill said: “An intelligent man who is proud of his own intelligence is like a prisoner who is proud of his big cell.” Which is why I won’t compliment the team a lot but one thing is for sure, we are all smart. Friday the 10th August was the Underage Festival the first of its kind, where we really enjoyed ourselves. There were thousand of teenagers having fun and listening to their favourite bands, without the presence or influence of adults. Even the police officers were really relaxed. Patrick wolf was one of the best artists who played on the festival, he was really amazing. People had fun without alcohol and drugs.
I personally loved it, and I think that young people should have more of this kind of event to keep them away from trouble or drugs and alcohol. There were so many things going on, like the Myspace Bus and their stage, which was really attractive. Girls were hanging around half-naked without the fear of paedophiles and rapists.
