Have you joined Write Here, Right Now?

Hi – I’m Nicole, a Spinebreakers Editor, and I’m also a member of Write Here, Right Now; a site similar to Spinebreakers, filled with content created solely by young people.

Write Here, Right Now is a project funded by the Department for International Development and gives young people – you included – a platform to voice your opinions on international development and politics.

You might believe that you don’t hold an interest in international development and politics, but if you’ve read ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ by Mohsin Hamid or even, ‘Noughts and Crosses’ by Malorie Blackman - which raises the issue of social injustice, politics and corruption through an intelligent, imaginative and ultimately entertaining approach - you’ll find that current affairs and international relations are subjects raised in most contemporary books.

The Write Here, Right Now website has the latest information on everything from corruption to climate change, the economy to international education, foreign aid to AIDS prevention.

The core editorial team have reported on an array of high profile events including the fundamental climate change summit in Copenhagen with featured videos on Bliss magazine, and with Fairtrade Fortnight coming up in February there are more events to create buzzing content around.

But this isn’t a completely passive experience - directly get involved and show your stance on global issues by uploading videos, photos and blog posts to highlight the global issues you’re most passionate about. Get your views published!
