Amelia's poem

By Amelia

Get a blunt and twisted dagger,
Plunge it through my cold abyss,
If you expect it to bleed,
Be disappointed; like many before you,

Tears flow from this heart of Titanic,
Unspoken but not forgotten,
Never forgotten,
Locked away; a restless need to be hidden,

To feel them flowing,
Is to feel an infinite heartbreak,
They won’t stop,
They never do,

Words of spite and anger storm past,
Rushing to be heard and seen,
My thoughts run loosely wild about the scene,
Memories with emotion,

A jeering, leering smudge of mascara,
Oozing, lustfully reaching towards the mockery,
Hot, dry blood soars away from the wound,
And in my head the unmentionable awake,

Magpies greedily swarm at me,
Yearning for the last glimmers of starlight,
Fading with agonising grace,
Leave my eyes as cold as my abyss,

Lingering thoughts on my cold abyss,
Watch it stop and bleed no more,
No more hurt,
No more love.

Not forgotten but held with a lengthy life.
