What is love?

By Francesca Creary

My head's spinning, heart's ringing,
pulse beating, like fire.
Mind racing, palms sweating,
eyes shining;
with tears of emotion, fear, pain...

I waited for you once in life,
years ago in my youth
when the world stepped out in civilised attire;
and the world was a mere fantasy,
fairytale.

Love should be like a city:
never sleeping, alive 24/7,
waiting right there, just when you need it,
all around when you're ready
to be surrounded by it,
by other lovers
on the street...
