Life is a River

By Dani

It’s a split in the route that you can't change
Getting tangled on a line that you'd rather not see,
Maybe it's time you just let it be.
By all means fret; it's what 'they' desire
But is it really what you require?

The unwanted visitor, they come and go as they please.
It's as if they have nothing better to do than come and bother you.
Many fish in the stream,
The good the bad and the ugly,

You're always seeking an escape, but why?
It can’t be that bad?
A little rough and rocky; it may cut up your 'feet'
But that makes other things heal in a heart beat

Hence little waterfalls, they make the smallest things seem so vast
All good things seem to go by so fast

The importance of affection murky and blurred by the polluted water
During both bliss and dismal periods tears fall,
How would we survive without the effects?
The effects that make life so unpredictable.
Not knowing where it leads
Not knowing where it ends
If it's safe but leads to death

That's when your life is a river.
