Promise Me Love

By Rebecca  Cross

The gentle
 curve of their waist unclothed.
The softest touch of your one betrothed.
The way you treasure every moment,
And the letters of love that you both sent.
“Togetherness forever.” That’s what they said.
So you stroked their hand and pulled them to bed.
”You promise me that?” Voice like a dove.
“Of course I do, because that is love.”
