The Star

By Molly Drummond  / Spinebreakers Crew

As the star, shining bright,
Looked around the moonlit night,
She caught sight of three wise Kings,
Carrying shiny, jewel-like things.
Then, thoughts came she had to heed,
These three men she had to lead,
Without a doubt, without a how,
She knew she had to lead them now.
She shone her brightest, through the night,
Leading the men as best she might.
Then, suddenly, she saw her goal,
A stable, ox and donkey foal.
A lady rocked her babe to sleep,
One man was the lantern-keep.
The Kings arrived, greeted, then,
Gave their gifts and left again.
The boy was Christ! The boy was King!
He mattered more than anything.
The star thought, as Sun unfurled,
“How peaceful a way to enter a world.”
