If I had to come up with the best couple out of all the books I have read I would pick...

Lyra, from the Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman and James Bond, from the Young Bond Series by Charlie Higson.

I chose to do these two characters because they both have the same personality: confident, brave, ready to get up and do anything worthwhile. With Lyra's march across the North, facing giant talking bears, the land of the dead, and invisible creatures who suck out adults soles, there's not much that she can't handle.

And with James' experiences of facing giant crocodiles, panthers, a crazy man with his brain showing with a gun, they would make a great team.
