Road Trip
Bonjour diary! Guess what? I’ve been to France, and loved it! I came up with the idea when I saw an advertisement in the paper, showing off cheap crossings in the Channel Tunnel via car, and I knew that it would be perfect for me and Tina. After all, we’d always talked about a road trip, but I’d chicken out whenever we actually came around to organizing something, but not anymore! Tina, of course, loved the idea and was round at my house, booking the thing, quicker than I could say ‘road trip’. Thank God for the mid-term break, or else we would’ve had to wait, and, knowing me, I would have thought about it too much and tried to back out.
The food there is amazing, and we took every opportunity we could to go out and eat some of the awesome local produce. Of course, what would a trip to France be without a trip to Disneyland? That day was hysterical, and I won’t be forgetting it any time soon! But, just to be on the safe side (hey, I might be going wild, be I’m still the same old Molly at heart!), I’m putting it all into a scrap book; pictures, random items we collected, captions and everything. I have a few favourites, picture-wise, including one of me and Tina, giant headphones on our heads and hair whipping us in the face. Word to the wise; helicopter rides do not make for a good hair day.
When we got back (yes, we did actually return, we’re not that crazy. Besides, we had school to get back to. Oh, the fun!), I put into action one of the harder tasks I’d set myself to do. I realised that a lot of people, despite the fact that I’d gone to the same high school all the way through my teens, probably had no idea who I was, due to the fact that I had been such an introvert before, so I had to make the effort to make myself known. Calm down, I wasn’t planning on streaking or anything like that! That really would be taking things just a little too far. No, the plan is to talk to everyone that I haven’t ever talked to before in my year. It may sound simple, but let me tell you, getting people to talk? Not so easy. Honestly, the way some people react, you’d think I was asking if it was alright to perform medieval torture on them, or something! Naturally, having observed these people before, I’m usually able to get at least something resembling conversation out of them, and I’ve definitely made some new friends. Alice, one of my new friends, is very supportive of my new year’s resolution and her and Tina have come together and have decided that they’re going to come up with a load of things I could do and, each month, they’ll put those suggestions into a hat, I’ll pick one out and I have to do whatever it says, on top of anything else I can think of. So, this month? Who knows what could happen!
Till next time,
Molly ;)
