 My Mother

By Jade  Hunter  / Spinebreakers Crew

My Mother

When I was younger
I used to dream
About angels and demons
Was my angel with me?
I wanted someone to keep me safe
I wanted someone to guide me
Love is such a powerful thing
It holds so many consequences
Mine was losing her
Before I even knew her

When I climbed the tree
I scraped my knee
When I rolled in the grass and dirt
There was no one there to shout at me
Or laugh when I would cry
You weren't there...

I want to find her
(The only one that makes me see)
I need to find her
(Half of the gift that made me)
She knows me like no other
Even though she weren't there when I was younger
I need to find...

It was 1982
Nothing unusual, nothing was strange
Stuck in a trance, watching the telly
I saw her on that big box
Crying
She was crying
Waiting to find me and love me
We felt the same

When I climbed the tree
I scraped my knee
When I rolled in the grass and dirt
There was no one there to shout at me
Or laugh when I would cry
You weren't there...

I want to find her
(The only one that makes me see)
I need to find her
(Half of the gift that made me)
She knows me like no other
Even though she weren't there when I was younger
I need to find...

She is everything
Just everything to me
She doesn't even know me but I don't care
Cos' I love her more than life itself
She is everything
Just everything to me
She doesn't even know me but I don't care
Cos' I love her more than life itself
And she loves me

I want to find her
(The only one that makes me see)
I need to find her
(Half of the gift that made me)
She knows me like no other
Even though she weren't there when I was younger
I need to find...
My mother.
My mother.
My mother.
