Diary of a Poetry Slam Champion

I'd been through the first heat, got through, and this was the night of the SUMMER POETRY SLAM FINAL!



Hosted by The Roundhouse Theatre, there were three illustrious trophies, ten teenagers and a night of poetry.



My name is called out, I walk stoically to the stage…. and then the paparazzi come out of nowhere, and took this picture of the judges!



I’m reading my first poem “Acrimera’. There are the judges… they look happy… Smiles are a good sign!



Seven minutes later and I’m still on stage! Well, you know what I say, it’s quality AND quantity that count. Edinburgh festival here I come!



My final performance…. “The Universe is a Psychedelic Thing”…here is where I let everything go...



The final 10. Who will become the Roundhouse Summer Slam Champion? The spot light is on…. me… literally..look. 

I look as cool as a cucumber but inside I’m really shaking like a rattle snake. 

 
I won! The coveted trophy is being placed in my hands.

Me, with my psychedelic shades and my sexy trophy, cameras where made for moments like these. Now I know how Will Smith felt in that film“I am legend’. I am ecstatic!

Clarissa, is now the,`Roundhouse Summer Slam 2008, poetry champion' and won two paid slots at the Roundhouse Theatre and Enterprise Express and £200 Dr. Martins vouchers.
