Josie's text review of Anne Frank
By Josie Bygraves / Spinebreakers Crew
Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank follows a young Jewishgirl’s experience of being in hiding during World War Two in the form of herdiary.
There is no doubt that Anne Frank was an extremely giftedwriter for her age, judging by her detailed descriptions and knowledge oflanguages. However, the book is quite long and slow paced.
In her diary, Anne opens up to reveal her most privatethoughts and feelings, which makes it easy for a young girl to relate to thebook. She also gives great insight into the political situations and policiesof WW2 from the point of view of someone on the receiving end of these.
I would recommend it to young girls with the patience todedicate a lot of time and attention to reading the book, as it is an emotionalviewpoint of a young girl experiencing the most horrific event in history, which I found fascinating.
