Charlotte's Review
By Charlotte Vinall / Spinebreakers Crew
This novel written by Kevin Brooks is a whodunit novel with hints of romance, comedy and horror combined. It is an interesting read with lots of twists and turns in the novel. It is a story about a 16-year old, Pete Boland, who is invited to a nearby fair with a few of his old friends. However, agreeing to go to the fair was the biggest mistake Pete Boland ever made…
I must admit, when I began reading this book, I was doubtful as whether I would enjoy it. I found it a little slow and hard to get into. However, as the plot develops and you learn more about the characters, I found it very hard to put it down. I found that when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about reading it. The ending was a huge shock to me, and without giving it away I will say that it was completely unexpected. I was slightly disappointed by the ending, as not all of the questions that are raised in the book are answered; however, it leads more to the imagination. I would recommend this book to anyone who is willing to go on a whirlwind of a journey and be shocked and surprised when they least expect it.
