Black Rabbit Summer Review
By Sian Anderson
This emotion-ridden novel will take you through the torment and frustration of growing up in the norm before being led into a world of the unknown where things just aren’t what they seem. The media embark on a search for a missing boy Raymond, but are tainted with false links and dead ends. It seems everybody is a suspect. But can his best friend find out what has happened in time to save his friend? Although this novel is one to keep you on the edge of your chair, I wouldn’t recommend it for a younger audience, as part of the storyline may be too gruesome and disturbing for their eyes. Kevin Brooks is successful in creating characters that any teen can relate to which makes the storyline even better as readers want to join in the emotional search for the truth.
