Max's lyrics to Black Rabbit Summer

Dispersing Friends

Lyrics by Max Elsworth

Every day of every week
Every month of every year
Just her name I dare not speak
In case I shed another tear.

They say that time does heal…
Yet ticking of the spokes on the symmetric wheel
Have ceased to drum my ears
So now the only result of time,
Is the feeding of my fears.

Now the time has passed…
As have the seasons shifted
The memory of her face I remember last;
Joyful and enthralling has now lifted.

Not because I have forgotten,
The memory is still strong, not rotten
But the vista that once haunted my mind
Has ceased to play
As a recurring nightmare does but during the brightness of day
I see her peering round the corners once again.
