I found this story immediately gripping

Cate Tiernan was born on the 24th of July 1961 in New Orleans. She writes novels for young adults because she believed she had something to say to young people and that she could do it well. She now lives in North Carolina with her two daughters.
When I read this book I was surprised to find that it was originally published as two separate stories, as I think it flows better published as one book. It is about a girl called Morgan who finds her life turned upside down when a new boy joins school.
I found this story immediately gripping. I liked the way it went into detail about what actually happens in Wicca and about different Wicca beliefs and holidays. I appreciated this as it shows Tiernan has actually put it a lot of research and hasn't just made it all up. I didn't really like the way the story is quite predictable, and I thought Tiernan could have improved it by adding some more unique elements.
Overall, I really liked this book and want to read all the rest! There are 13 more books and I can't wait to delve again into the magical and thrilling world of Wicca.
