I quite liked it

I was reading Lock and Key, by Sarah Dessen, throughout my holiday in Scotland. I kind of got on my brother's nerves, actually, because I kept reading everytime we played poker. It didn't help me, I still lost. But anyway, I think there are a couple before this book, but thanks to the author I managed to get into the story immediately. It's not usually my type of genre, but I quite liked it.
If I was asked what the book was about, I would unwillingly make it sound boring and plotless:
i.e.
'well, it's about this girl... and she goes to live with her sister because her mum's run off... and she likes this guy... and...' see what I mean? I think it's because nothing huge happens as an event, it's just what happens with her realising such-and-such. As you can see, it's hard for me to explain.
Al the same, if anyone asked me if I'd read a good book lately, I'd probably name that one, but I'd pretend not to hear them when the inevitable 'So, what's it about?' question rears it's curious, hard-to-please head. I'd say seven out of ten. I'm more of a Pratchett girl myself, however.
