Chapter Thirty-Four

I reached the bottom of the track and stood silently by the Cliffside. As I watched the ocean, it revealed the rocks below. It was in that moment, I realised Gemma was never lost, she had always been found. She was the strong one, not me. She knew what she wanted from life and she got it. For the last 5 years, I had torn my life apart, lost all emotion and now I was nothing but a shell. I had made one aim in life – to find Gemma. I would not stop until I had achieved it!

But now I had accomplished this aim, there was nothing left for me. The past had been laid to rest, now so must I. I turned and walked from the Cliffside, then suddenly turned, ran and jumped. I felt as though I was flying, my life flashing before me – Steve, Gemma, Coral, Zak… then nothing. It was finally over.
