I can’t wait to get my hands on Rumours
By Lolita / Spinebreakers Crew
The Luxe is a very strong and dangerous novel. Each character equips with their own passion, love and scandal. The storyline that Anna Godbersen leaps and dives deep into some of the most traitorous canyons.
Elizabeth Holland is beautiful and was brought up with the most pleasing manners and virtues. Noticed by all woman and men, and treated as a good and noble friend and pleasant company. Her love is passionately directed to a young man who she has known and loved all her life, he goes by the name of Will. He is the family’s coachman. Elizabeth can see through class and position or wealth but a very rich man proposes to her and sets all of her friends and loved ones all over the place!
Diana Holland, her younger sister, the dark untamed mare, darts from her sister’s perfect shadow, books and mystical secrets taint Diana into the world that Diana loves and dreams in. When another young man arrives at their house Mr. Schoonmaker, her eyes are opened to a new land of romantic love.
Lena, the housemaid, craves more than the constant duties of a lady's maid. By meeting beautiful and powerful Penelope Hayes, she finds a way to sell peoples secrets and get away from her trapped life and search for her true love.
Over all, I thought that The Luxe was a really well written and moving tale of the strains that young women of the 18th century had to deal with. I can’t wait until I can get my hands on, Rumours, the second book by Anna Godbersen.
