Review by Malik
Melanie Fiona has the potential to take the UK R&B scene by a storm.
A powerful voice, which eclipses some of the flimsy pop singers like Duffy, she may provide a breath of fresh air in the UK market. I’m a big fan of hip-hop myself, but I couldn’t help rather enjoying her voice, she also touches upon some fairly unconventional backing tracks.
‘The Bridge’ her second album, is really quite good. I wouldn’t say this genre is very musically groundbreaking, but it is feel-good and easy on the ear. Tracks like ‘It Kills Me’, which reached top ten in the US billboard chart (featured on her website http://www.melaniefiona.com/) blows rubbish like ‘N-Dubz’ out of the water.
For all the R&B, Pop fans, I advise you to grab a copy, and witness a star in the making!
