You will get addicted

By Katherine

Not to be confused with the Canadian heavy metal band - they couldn’t sound less like them. Their sound and image has led their launch, forget information overload on Monarchy, there’s just a few reviews here and there.

Enter the mysterious Monarchy. I hate comparing bands, each are different in many ways. But for arguments sake, Monarchy are the next dapper Delphic (with less over instrument use), with a hint of Golden Filter (minus the chick). Monarchy are a duo from London (but are from Canada originally), their identities remain a mystery (like Bloody Beetroots or Daft Punk).

The Phoenix Alive you may have already heard if you’re a fan of Kitsune compilation albums. It exhales charm and beauty throughout the song. The singing is soothing yet the beat is energetic. It’s like they’ve revolutionised keyboard to be less of a 70’s music concept and far more modern.

You can’t disagree that Monarchy are new and exciting that could suit the masses. You could dance, sing or just calmly listen to their melodic and entrancing songs. Love Get Out of My Way is by far their best track so far. It’s a little more suave and sophisticated with what I can only describe as “high swoopy sounds.” This song’s like a drug, you will get addicted. No need for rehab, this is by far the best addiction you’ll ever have.
