Books I love:

Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell gives a fascinating insight into the dangers of totalitarianism. One less known author I’ve greatly enjoyed was Sam Selvon, whose Moses trilogy focuses on the lives of Caribbean immigrants in London, which, especially apparent in the first, The Lonely Londoners, manage to be funny and up-beat at the same time as deeply moving. Scoop by Evelyn Waugh definitely tops the satire list, and at the same time has been praised by journalists for its high accuracy in its depiction of the world of print media.

Favourite genre/s:
I can enjoy almost anything, save ghost-written celebrity memoirs. Most of the books I read would just fall into the general fiction category, but I suppose I read quite a lot of crime and political books, l and I’d like to read more biography, although I find these hard to finish. I enjoy both reading and writing poetry, but don’t find that much time for this.

I’m currently reading:
Gomorrah: Italy’s Other Mafia by Robert Saviano

What’s on my bookshelf:
These shelves mainly house my favourite books, books I’m meaning to read and useful things like dictionaries.
